To help you meet your cyber reporting requirements, this list brings together Commonwealth legislative reporting requirements that could be triggered by a cyber security incident.

When you are experiencing a cyber security incident, the Australian Government’s priority is to support you. We know that cyber security incidents can be complex and it can be difficult to understand how to meet your reporting requirements.

Under the 2023-2030 Australian Cyber Security Strategy, we have committed to making it easier for entities affected by a cyber security incidents to meet their regulatory reporting obligations through a three-phased approach.

This is the first phase of our commitment to developing a single reporting portal for cyber security incidents.

? ASX-listed: This would include entities that are public companies listed on the Australian Securities Exchange. Critical infrastructure: This would include entities either responsible for, or with a direct interest in, a critical infrastructure asset. If you are not sure if this applies to you, refer to the Asset Class Definition Guidance Factsheet. Foreign investors: This would include foreign individuals, corporations, government investors and other types of entities that have interests in Australian businesses, land or investments, and are regulated under Australia’s foreign investment framework. If you are not sure if this applies to you, please refer to the guidance on the Foreign Investment website.
