Today, the Australian Signals Directorate (ASD) has launched the Essential Eight Assessment Course pilot in collaboration with TAFEcyber.

The Essential Eight Assessment Course will help you understand the intent and application of ASD’s Essential Eight, learn to use ASD designed tools, accurately test the implementation of the Essential Eight, and define an action plan to address any weaknesses. Using a blend of expertise knowledge and hands-on technical training, this course will give you the skills to support your organisation’s cyber security posture and resilience.

Eighteen participants from Australian Government departments, state and territory government entities will complete the pilot before the course is rolled out nationally from August 2023.

The three-day course will teach participants on how to practically apply the Essential Eight Assessment Process Guide to conduct accurate and consistent Essential Eight assessments.

Upon completion of the course, participants will be better equipped to assess, help improve their organisation’s cyber security posture and know what steps to take to protect from cyber threats.

Find out more about our collaboration with TAFEcyber and the Essential Eight Assessment Course at the TAFEcyber website. See Minister O’Connor’s announcement of the pilot.
